AMVs are fun, but what’s more fun is going to programming blocks you know. We’ve all seen AMV Hell a few times, but what AUSA’s AMV room brings to the table is a room full of sweaty otaku that know all the lines like it’s fucking Rocky Horror. It’s hard to meet new people at a con in a way that doesn’t seem fleeting. But singing and laughing along with a hundred people is the sort of experience you can’t get anywhere else. That we all knew the jokes by heart just makes it better.

Second, I hung out in the Hetalia video room for a while because it was empty and cold and Hetalia is funny. There was a loud, talkative, silly girl in there dressed as Italy. I think you get a pass on being annoying if you’re doing it in character and in the right place.
