This morning, Wizard announced the New Jersey Comic Con, taking place in Edison’s New Jersey Convention & Exposition Center on October 15-17.

If that date doesn’t ring any bells for you, let me remind you that the previous weekend, October 8-10, is the New York Comic Con/Anime Fest.  And Wizard’s Big Apple Comic Con.

So.  Here is Wizard’s Astounding Master Plan™:

1. Start off Con War I by scheduling Big Apple Comic Con at the same time as New York Comic Con, which, if successful, will probably not net any more attendees than previous years, and if failful, will decimate con attendance for Wizard. (The reaction I’ve seen seems to be anti-Wizard sentiment, so their evil plan™ might have already backfired.)
2. After dividing the fans the previous weekend, possibly making them go to two different cons and spending double the money, plan to establish a new con.  The weekend after. 45 minutes away.  Because who would rather go to New York City when they could go to Edison, amirite?
3. Have her open the box.

I really am curious to see how this plays out.  We got our start at NY Anime Fest, and will be there this year, so that is where we shall be.  Unless Wizard wants to woo us to Big Apple Comic Con by doubling our standard speaking fee of $20,000.

Everyone shut up and pretend we get paid for this and let’s see what happens. SHHHHHH.
